How do people celebrate Matariki?

Matariki is a maori new year.Maori in
New Zealand Celebrate Matariki.

Whanau gathering-This is a time when
extended whanau to celebrate the
beginning of the maori new year.

Preparing Matariki Breakfast- People
get up early in the morning before the
sun rises, To make a big feed for the
big whanau to celebrate the Matariki
during the night time to looking at the
stars.

Harvesting  crops-ripe crops in the field
and grow new crops in.

Fly kites-Maori special kind of kites that
are made out of flax or sticks.They also
have kite flying competition during the
new year.

Fishing-It is the time to catch fish, to
